Microchip Identification

One of the most important things you can do to protect your pet is to assure it's identification.  A frightening number of pets enter the animal shelter system each year simply due to the fact that animal control has no means by which to return a pet to it's loving home.  Collars and external tags are helpful, and should be used, but can fall off (or be taken off).  Microchips are a permanent form of identification.  A small chip the size of a grain of rice is implanted under your pets skin in the same manner as giving a vaccine.  The chip contains information about your pet and can be read using a special scanner. We will supply you with the means to register your pet's microchip information with a national database.  Most veterinary hospitals and animal control agencies have these special scanners and will use them to attempt to identify stray pets.  We use Bayer ResQ Microchips.
